Always been like a hummingbird.

Kayla Cille Terry struggles to write her own biography. Even when she published a book about her older brother with Down Syndrome (An Everyday Inspiration: The Authorized Biography of Matthew Ian Terry) in November of 2007, she had to get her own mother to pen the About the Author. However, her mom isn't so savvy with building websites, so now Kayla is left on her own.

Kayla grew up in Tuscaloosa, Alabama along with her parents, Johnny and Teri, and her brothers, Ian and Stuart. Having an extremely supportive and loving family has helped shape this Bama girl into who she is today. Kayla was the very first reverse mainstream student introduced into the Rise School soon after she was born. Ever since then, she has developed a deep passion for the special needs community and regularly returns to Rise to photograph the students. In high school, Kayla attended Tuscaloosa Academy and graduated with Honors (like being voted Class Clown two years in a row).

In May 2011, Kayla graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor's degree in Public Relations and Photography. She is now working as a Web Developer & Business Analyst at Randall Reilly Publishing.
